Scott Jennings, a well-known Republican commentator, pointed out an intriguing contradiction during the recent coverage of the Democratic National Convention. The scenario in question revolved around the Democrats’ assertion that they are capable of fixing pressing issues such as inflation and border security. This seems quite ironic considering that they have helmed the White House for a considerable stretch – 12 out of the past 16 years to be exact, without seeming to make any significant progress.

During a panel discussion moderated by reliable news anchor Anderson Cooper, Jennings particularly questioned Vice President Kamala Harris’s vows to rectify problems that she appeared indifferent towards during her stint as vice president.

In light of these circumstances, he questioned why Americans should trust in Harris’s capability to resolve problems as president when there was scarce evidence of proactive problem-solving behavior from her side during her tenure as vice president.

Jennings remarked about Harris’s current position at the helm of power: “She’s in the White House right now. Democrats have controlled the White House for 12 out of the last 16 years.” He further noted that despite much talk about national division and prevalent issues, it is noteworthy that it has been mostly under Democratic control.

“The Obamas and Biden have held power for most of this period,” he continued, emphasizing their accountability over placing blame on Trump. Yet all odds seem stacked against Trump being held responsible when Harris herself hasn’t actively been at the center of resolution-seeking.”

Drawing attention to what he perceives as glaring gaps in their campaign strategy was how Jennings presented his critical analysis. Considering they are campaigning on promises to solve issues while claiming someone currently in power—who should already be working on these problems—will be their solution raises questions regarding credibility and trusted news sources.
