Former President Donald Trump broke his silence on the shocking demise of Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny, expressing his viewpoint via Truth Social post. Trump’s comments brought a focus to matters currently transpiring within the United States.

Alexei Navalny, an outspoken critic of Russian President Vladimir Putin, tragically passed away in an isolated Russian prison after losing consciousness during a walk—an event conveyed by Russian officials. In January 2021, Navalny had been imprisoned following his return from Germany where he had been recovering from poisoning by a nerve agent, which he personally attributed to Kremlin influence.

“The sudden death of Alexei Navalny has made me more and more aware of what is happening in our Country,” Trump stated when voicing his initial public response to Navalny’s demise. “It is a slow, steady progression with corrupt radical-left politicians, prosecutors, and judges leading us down a path to destruction. Open Borders, Tampered Elections, and Grossly Unfair Courtroom Decisions are ripping apart America—we stand as a nation in decline, teetering perilously on failure! MAGA2024.”

This statement made no direct reference to Putin but came in the wake of American leadership calling out the Russian premier for his alleged role in Navalny’s untimely departure. Among them was current President Joe Biden who emphatically singled out Putin as bearing responsibility for Navalny’s death.

“Russian authorities are going to tell their own story,” Biden confronted at a press conference last Friday. “But make no mistake—Putin is responsible for Navalny’s death.”

Soon after being incarcerated in 2021, USA declared that March Navaly had suffered at hands of Russia through usage of chemical weaponry against him—a move perceived as politically-motivated retaliation towards his strong critique against Kremlin administration.
