Across America, from Massachusetts to Wisconsin, a troubling trend has been observed in schools that has raised concerns among parents striving to stay informed about their children’s online activities. This real news highlights the secretive use of LGBT chat platforms by minors where discussions range from “gender affirming surgeries” and transgenderism to occult practices alongside adults who identify as LGBT.

For instance, public schools in Massachusetts have directed LGBTQIA+ identified youths towards QChat. This platform claims to provide discussion groups for LGBTQ+ teens aged 13 to 19 without seeking parental permission, covering subjects such as tarot cards, queer youth activism, and sex relationships. The collaborative effort of various LGBT activist groups and Planned Parenthood executes this platform equipped with a “quick escape” button allowing users to swiftly hide their usage from their parents.

In Wisconsin, students were introduced to TrevorSpace that likewise enables LGBT-identified minors to interact anonymously with adults. This site, developed by the Trevor Project, has been exposed for hosting explicit conversations about sexual fetishes where adults reportedly advised minors on how discreetly obtain chest binders for breast binding and hide these purchases from their parents. Most disturbingly, some adults on the platform shared detailed information about their masturbation habits in chat rooms accessible for minors.

These breaking news instances underscore the ongoing struggle held by parents striving for control over their children’s wellbeing against forces such as certain state powers, school districts or medical organizations – all of which have worked towards enabling both social and medical transition of children without parental consent.

Nicole Neily, founder and president of Parents Defending Education highlighted how these secretive chat-group promotions taking place without parental knowledge are often masked behind ‘anti-bullying’ initiatives. The Brockton Public Schools in Massachusetts promoted QChat via an “LGBTQIA+ Resource Guide” aimed at enhancing gender-sensitive interactions among school personnel, while Pepin Area Schools in Wisconsin endorsed TrevorSpace under mental health resources. It’s crucial to note that these are not isolated examples or confined incidents. Various other school districts across the country are promoting these chat platforms as well.

These platforms have been widely criticized due to the potential risk they pose concerning children’s safety with Republican lawmakers sharing strong objections against the endorsement of QChat by the Center for Disease Control. Eight Congress members, led by Rep Dan Bishop (R-NC), deemed it “unconscionable” for a government agency to endorse such a platform.

State officials too have come under scrutiny for advertising these sites with one instance involving a lawsuit filed against former Arizona State Superintendent of Public Instruction Kathy Hoffman over her department’s promotion of QChat Space.

The Wisconsin Institute for Law and Liberty has drafted a letter for parents to demand removal of TrevorSpace as a resource from all school district websites citing concerns about student safety considering conversations held on such platforms often bypass parental consent and knowledge.
