Well known for considering wide-ranging topics from spiritual to political under the guise of “gospel issues”, TGC’s recent trends point to a shift away from grappling with contentious and paramount biblical dilemmas of our time.

Brett McCracken, an often-mentioned “culturally aware” contributor to the organization, has recently come under scrutiny for his article on “Inside Out 2”. Critics argue that this indicates a concerning preference in the organization towards engaging with mainstream Hollywood productions rather than focusing on substantial biblical subjects.

Throughout his career, McCracken’s preference for secular television and film has been noted time and again. His recommendations more often than not include content deemed objectionable from a Christian perspective – filled with blasphemy, profanity, and explicit material. Observers are quick to note that this fascination with trivial matters over engaging directly with pertinent scriptural realities paints a worrying picture about TGC’s priorities.

Accusations suggest that TGC is shying away from addressing critical issues such as abortion, sexual immorality, apostasy within the church while showing an increased tendency towards discussing worldly subjects in its bid for cultural acceptance. This makes some members question whether TGC is keener on gaining worldly approval than declaring the unadulterated truth of the Gospel.
