In a recent sermon at Kingdom Church in Phoenix, Arizona, co-Pastor Kelley Steele imparted a strong message to Christian women about maintaining marital relationships based on biblical principles. Reginald Steele, her husband and leader of the congregation strongly supported her address.

Kelley told the Christian women of her congregation that withholding sex from their husbands goes against biblical teachings and could potentially drive spouses into the company of other women who will oblige them without setting rules. Kelley explicated that even if the husband isn’t living a faith-based life or serving God, wives ought to lead an exemplary Christ-driven life that impacts their spouses positively. According to 1 Peter 3:1 as she pointed out, wives can win over non-believing husbands by demonstrating their faith through nontoxic behavior.

Quoting another scripture from Ephesians 5:22-23, which advises wives to submit just as they do to Christ while pointing out that the husband leads his wife just like Christ leads his church body, she emphasized on single ladies who are involved with married men vouching them find their respective partners and submit unto them.

Utilizing this opportunity, Steele provided practical suggestions about how submission could look like for Christian women. This includes homemaking activities such as cooking dinner, cleaning up after oneself and attending to one’s husband’s needs psychologically and sexually.

Reminding her audience regarding sexual withholding – A phenomenon categorized by deliberate abstention from sexual intimacy within marriage – Steele implored married females in her congregation not to set conditions precedent for sex in their marital life.

Steele sought to educate especially the younger women against the practice of withholding sex as a means of bargaining or retaliation. She reiterated that perseverance and compromise were key traits for a prosperous marital relationship and these needed to be followed faithfully adhering to the matrimonial promises made during marriage.

Reginald Steele used sage wisdom to make his stance clear as well, encouraging husbands who felt mistreated in their marriage to voice their concerns effectively with their wives, demanding respect, dignity, and a clean household along with earnestly prepared meals.
