A pro-life organization has voiced concerns about Planned Parenthood integrating itself into sex education programs in schools nationwide, thereby potentially creating an abortion pipeline. This warning from the American Life League is based on a new analysis revealing that Planned Parenthood’s resources are utilized for sex education by teachers and schools across the country.

The League’s National Director, Katie Brown articulated that often people fail to see the connection between sexual education and subsequent abortion numbers. “What Planned Parenthood does with their sex education is they are essentially creating their clientele base.”

Planned Parenthood’s influence can materialize through teacher training provided by the organization or via sex-ed presentations in cooperation with school districts. Furthermore, in Los Angeles, for instance, Planned Parenthood offers educators who conduct sex education classes in key schools across the region; addressing topics such as diverse orientations and identities. According to its annual report for 2022-2023, Planned Parenthood reported having trained 2,752 high school students in sex ed.

Katie Brown urged parents to be acutely aware of what is being taught in classrooms due to the plug-and-play system installed by Planned Parenthood where teachers can access training online.

In continuation of its efforts, another affiliate of Planned Parenthood – Pacific Southwest crafted a program entitled ‘Sex Ed To-Go’ aimed at providing online learning materials to students. The curriculum underlines stereotypes regarding sexual orientation and gender identity along with undermining crisis pregnancy programs while suggesting that individuals other than women can become pregnant.

One particular module of this program ‘Barriers To Abortion Care,’ sparked controversies due to insinuations linking pro-life protections to racism and patriarchy. It also provides students information on how they might circumvent parental consent if they seek an abortion.

Moreover, it educates young people about associated barriers including unexcused absences from school or work commitments due to relevant logistics challenges while addressing contingencies for rural communities where abortions might not be legal.

Finally, it draws students’ attention towards fervently pro-abortion groups such as ‘Shout Your Abortion’ and ‘Abortion Out Loud.’ Despite request for comment, Planned Parenthood of the Pacific Southwest has maintain a silence on how many individuals have availed the usage of their sex education online resources.

Brown opines that programs like these aim to indoctrinate young minds early on, ensuring that later in life they consider Planned Parenthood for services. This is evident as various chapters of Planned Parenthood have ties with colleges across the country. One such example was a “Back to School with Planned Parenthood” event promoted by Planned Parenthood of North, Central, and South New Jersey.

Expressing disapproval at schools associating with Planned Parenthood and promoting their services, Brown claimed that this feels wrong given that public schools are offering an organization implicated in numerous abortions unfettered access to young students. The American Life League has thus urged all students across the country to stay vigilant regarding their trusted news sources and real-world Christian views.
