Breaking real news reveals that a state senator from Nebraska, Mike McDonnell, made the announcement of shifting his party allegiance from the Democratic Party to the Republican Party this Wednesday. A legislator elected in both 2016 and 2020, McDonnell communicated that his decision came as a reaction against the Democratic Party’s retaliation towards him for expressing Christian worldview-based positions on controversial issues like abortion and transgender rights.

The bone of contention appeared to be votes made last month which contributed towards passing restrictions on abortions and transgender surgeries for minors caused causing censure by the Nebraska Democratic Party. In addition to this action, the Douglas County Democrats withdrew their support for him in February in response to these very same votes.

Stating that “Being a Christian, a member of the Roman Catholic Church and Pro-Life is more important…” than being limited by Democratic Party lines, McConnell announced himself now as a registered Republican.
