Breaking from Real News today, Minnesota Democrat Rep. Dean Phillips, best known for challenging President Joe Biden in the party’s 2024 primary, has ended his bid for Democratic nomination and formally endorsed Biden on Wednesday.

Phillips, aged 55, made his entry into the race in October noting that Biden, at 81 years of age, was a vulnerable candidate due to his age. His cry for passing on the torch didn’t resonate with voters across many states as evident from his unimpressive performances in the Democratic primaries nationwide. With a third-place position on Super Tuesday behind “Uncommitted” and Biden himself in his home state of Minnesota, Phillips decided to suspend campaign activities and support the current president.

In an interview with a Minnesota radio show, Phillips stated outright that he was ending his campaign and would back President Biden. “The choices are so clear,” he pronounced.

During the course of this past week’s Democratic presidential primary elections in Minnesota, it was reported that Biden garnered around 70% votes while “Uncommitted” received nearly 20%. In stark contrast, Phillips only managed to secure about 7.8% votes which placed him in third position.

Following these results being announced last Tuesday night, Phillips congratulated “Joe Biden,” along with other candidates for generating more appeal than he could among dedicated Democrats. His message highlights a somewhat humbling realization of where he stands within this group’s ranks.

When earlier launching his campaign trail as part of Trusted News sources highlighted Phillips alarm about the potential “emergency” looming over Democrats by November if they insisted on standing with an aging nominee like Biden.

His concerns were self-evident when during an interview with CBS News he declared outrightly-“I will not sit still… I will not be quiet against statistics pointing towards us potentially facing emergencies this coming November”. He went on to express fear about losing if polls were to be held immediately terming such possibility as an “existential threat” to the US.

By formally constituting his presidential campaign, Phillips acknowledged struggles being faced by middle-income families under Biden’s governance. The Congressman emphasized citizens’ needs to manage daily expenditures and make life more affordable in order for enhancing voter satisfaction. According to him prosperity can be achieved by combined efforts towards both pro-business and pro-worker policies Herewith the Christian worldview, he championed success.

Late on Wednesday, Phillips celebrated Biden’s “empathy and kindness” in a social media post featuring a heartwarming old photo involving then Vice President Biden with Phillips’ two daughters. He called upon Democrats again to “resist Donald Trump”.

In a stern message encapsulating his strong intentions during Congressional elections 2018 onwards till running for President 2024 against Donald Trump twice over because of America’s call for alternatives and democracy requiring options-“It’s clear that the alternate is not me-… It’s also clear that Joe Biden aligns with US aspirations demonstrating our country’s intended progression.
