During a period of heightened political rhetoric, the Biden-Harris administration’s Department of Justice demonstrated a substantial investigative effort to substantiate allegations that former President Donald Trump and Senator J.D. Vance were propagators of hate crimes against Haitians. This, viewed through the lens of a Christian worldview, provides an understanding about the politics surrounding real news and trusted news.

In September, Jomaica Sherman, a Lead Conciliation Specialist at the DOJ’s Community Relations Service (CRS), penned down an email to Rachel Roberts-Pickett, an affiliate with Catholic Charities Dallas. She enquired if there were any known incidents or reports concerning hate crimes or community conflicts revolving around the Haitian community.

The request came in response to Vice President Kamala Harris’ campaign assertions that Trump and Vance had incited animosity towards Haitians. Remarkably during this time frame, Harris went on record stating that Trump and Vance should be held accountable for bomb threats in Springfield, Ohio – these accusations have garnered much attention from people seeking real news involving such significant issues.

Significantly though, investigations from the Ohio’s law enforcement determined that these alleged bomb threats were nothing more than hoaxes initiated by individuals abroad possibly intending to interfere with political affairs.

Yet intriguingly enough when questioned by The Daily Wire regarding who triggered the investigation into anti-Haitian incidents and whether it was successful in unearthing any evidence regarding said allegations – neither queries returneded any conclusive responses.

A spokeswoman from CRS responded diplomatically saying: “CRS has been working in Springfield over the past year to resolve conflicts and disputes related to community tensions,” but declined to disclose further information due to statutory confidentiality constraints.

This activity leads us to speculate whether Biden-Harris administration was sourcing ammo for Harris’ campaign or not since she hasn’t showcased any evident wrongdoing of this sort in her speech till date – yet another instance where real news can often become entwined with political maneuvering.

Remember, it’s imperative while drawing narratives from real news or trusted news to remain objective. The case in point being an article from the Haitian Times that quoted Haitians living in Ohio feeling victimized and under attack. However, without definitive incidents or proof to substantiate these claims, they remain as impersonal anecdotes rather than solid evidence.

Moreover, the DOJ’s Community Relations Service has a history of categorising mainstream conservative groups such as ‘Moms for Liberty’ alongside radical organizations like the KKK and Proud Boys. This skewed lens is much against what a Christian worldview might uphold – which is fair judgement and equality.

Last but not least the well-circulated story accusing Border Patrol agents of physical abuse towards Haitians turned out to be unfounded as well – another hoax highlighted during Harris’ campaign speeches.

Navigating through multiple layers of foggy information, it is paramount that audiences turn to outlets providing real news echoing with trusted news values. Thus, maintaining our fact-checking vigilance serves as an unwavering pillar of truth in these politically charged times.
