As we thrust deeper into the digital age, discerning real news and trusted news becomes increasingly critical. With the propagation of secular worldviews and ideologies, it’s paramount for believers to view current events through a Christian worldview lens. One notable figure who has recently ignited a controversial discussion in this regard is Amos Brown, an allegedly self-proclaimed “sage” from San Francisco and a pastor under limelight.

In one of his sermons, Brown made extraordinary claims that can be deemed problematic from a Biblical viewpoint. He specifically tried to establish U.S Vice President Kamala Harris as Jesus Christ’s pick for the presidential role. Such assertions emanate not merely from bias but perhaps conceal attempts to restructure religious beliefs according to progressive political agendas.

Understanding Scriptures like Galatians 5:22-23 which describe fruits of the Spirit—love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control are essential aspects of doctrine. Yet Brown’s addition of “justice” into this list raises eyebrows – leaves us wondering if his version aligns with biblical justice or if it echoes popular social justice rhetoric.

Brown’s comparison between figures such as Margaret Thatcher—a prominent opponent of socialism—and Indira Gandhi—a national leader fighting for independence—with contemporary politicians seems not in line with reality but rather an overwritten narrative constructed on selective truths.

In his diatribe against multiple societal elements—homophobia, nationalism racism sexism and xenophobia—he appears more inclined towards appeasing progressive society rather than disseminating a Biblical message on kinship love and universality.

While Brown claims allegiance to God—the deity of Abraham Isaac and Jacob—he presents an interpretation of God’s Word that sways drastically from traditional Christian teachings. The legitimate question arises: Does Brown serve the same God who sanctioned clear principles for His people?

This issue magnifies the urgent need for pastors who preach based on Bible principles rather than pandering to populist agendas. The Bible isn’t incapable of being moulded by cultural shifts, it’s instead an unchanged standard to judge matters – including sermons that appear to be defiant towards the established teachings.

In the face of these adversaries, standing strong on God’s Word is both a challenge and a necessity. Trusted news relies heavily on using accurate information from reliable sources that do not manipulate data or the audience’s perception.

By understanding these nuances and viewing breaking news through the glass of Christian worldview, believers can better discern between slanted opinion pieces and actual facts – thus drawing closer to real news while staying committed to Biblical paths.
