Prominent Democratic leaders and pundits are pressuring President Joe Biden to relinquish his candidacy after a worrisome performance in his June 27 debate with ex-president Donald Trump. This recent pattern of events has resulted in an uproar of concern, leading to calls for his withdrawal, causing quite the stir in real news outlets.

Rep. Lloyd Doggett, D-Texas, on Tuesday expressed his hope that Biden makes the tough decision to step down from his presidential bid. “I am hopeful that he will make the painful and difficult decision to withdraw,” Doggett stated. Despite these controversial challenges within the Democratic camp, there’s no denying that Pence enjoyed a massive four-decade ascendancy spanning Senate roles towards vice-presidency efforts before finally scoring the ultimate office. Looking inwards at Vice President Kamala Harris as a potential replacement raises more doubts than solutions, given her supposed shortcomings handling the border situation and her frequently observed giggling tendencies, which have undoubtedly left scars on her public image.

In consideration of replacing Biden with another white male candidate such as Gov. Gavin Newsom of California would certainly upset black women who are by far their most loyal voter demographic. Areva Martin, a black woman and California delegate, warned during an interview that selecting a white man over Kamala Harris could result in black women abandoning the party.
