Recent research has uncovered that roughly 10% to 27% of noncitizens residing in the U.S. are illicitly registered to vote, potentially leading to up to 2.7 million unlawful votes in the upcoming November elections. Trusted news sources indicate that this substantial number of possible illegal votes could cause significant changes in election outcomes.

The groundbreaking study, conducted by renown research institute Just Facts, was published last week. It highlights data from the 2022 U.S. census which showed about 19 million adult noncitizens living within American borders. Applying these voter registration rates suggests that approximately 2 million to 5 million of them are illegally registered to vote. These figures hold enough potential sway power to contravene the will of American voters on critical issues including congressional seats and even the presidency.

Just Facts’ president James Agresti, recently provided an extensive analysis of noncitizen voting behavior and discussed the implications of this study’s findings during an interview with “Washington Watch”.

He elaborated extensively on how wide-ranging opportunities exist for noncitizens aiming to vote in America. He indicated how shockingly easy it is for a non-U.S citizen to register via various forms of identification ranging from Social Security numbers to driver’s licenses or even utility bills – all things many non-citizens can access without proving citizenship.

Agresti further shared alarming reports from the Social Security Administration which estimated that approximately 2.5 million non-citizens obtained Social Security numbers through fraudulent means such as using forged birth certificates or theft.

Hans von Spakovsky, a senior legal fellow at The Heritage Foundation supported this viewpoint but expressing concern over the absence of comprehensive verification processes by states regarding citizenship during voter registrations. Consequently, he highlighted that this makes it extremely effortless for anyone not holding U.S. citizenship status to become registered voters and participate unlawfully in elections without facing any repercussions.

These loopholes may have lasting consequences. Agresti warns that if elections proceed without changes in verification processes, it’s expected that approximately 1 million to 2.7 million noncitizens will cast votes in the next presidential election — a vibrant concern potentially impacting the results of congressional races, Senate showdowns and even the U.S. presidency itself.

Echoing these concerns, von Spakovsky emphasized that every illegal vote coming from a non-citizen essentially negates the vote of a genuine citizen – an infringement on the democratic process greatly overlooked by many stakeholders.

Unveiling potential implications, Agresti pointed out an ideological conundrum; nearly 80% of noncitizen voters side with Democrats when they vote illegally. Consequently, any attempts at improving checks on voter citizenship have been strenuously opposed by Democrats, possibly explained by their benefiting from this lack of regulation.

In an effort to manage this uncertainty and promote election integrity, House Republicans have taken steps forward by introducing a bill requiring proof of citizenship for voter registration and removal of noncitizens from existing voter rolls. However, doubts persist regarding its acceptance in the Senate or being signed into law under President Joe Biden’s administration.

The necessity for definite proof verifying only legitimate citizens can exercise their right to vote is paramount for future elections as inferred by Agresti. Such demands are vital in ensuring fair outcomes in tight races while maintaining accountability within electoral processes — integral elements within a democracy shaped by Christian worldview guiding principles.

Demanding proof that voters are genuine citizens is not just about preventing fraud; it’s about upholding credibility and trust — essential factors associated with real news affecting everyday Americans’ lives. Election results should be determined solely through legal means reflecting veritable democratic expression whereby every citizen has fair representation.
