A mere six days after former President Joe Biden decided to not run for the 2024 presidential race, Kamala Harris was nominated as the presumptive Democratic nominee. However, based on a fresh poll, it is evident that vast majorities of Democrats and Independents, those who had voted for Biden in 2020 and whom Harris desperately requires support from this November, have little to no knowledge about her past controversial and radical positions. This raises a worrisome question: will their ignorance sway the election’s outcome?

Findings from an insightful new Media Research Center poll indicate that when quizzed about different elements of Harris’ public service record — covering diverse issues like sponsoring the Green New Deal, terminating ICE or dissolving private health insurance — between 71-86% of registered Democrats and Independents stated their lack of awareness or understanding associated with Harris’s stance.

Interestingly, when asked about where these voters garnered most news about political elections and candidates, broadcast television (ABC, CBS and NBC) or cable news (CNN and MSNBC) topped the list. This highlights an ostensible failing by these media giants to adequately report on once (and potentially still) held radical positions by the current Democratic Presidential nominee.

In fact, upon closer examination of ABC, CBS and NBC evening news reports since July 21 to August 10 (the three weeks spanning after Kamala Harris took lead as Democratic candidate), it is startling to note that at least eight out of ten critical issues received scant attention while two others had minor coverage from these reputed newscasts.

Therefore, the disconcerting truth remains: large swaths of Democrat and Independent voters are woefully ignorant regarding Kamala Harris’s past contentious stances due to a systematic design by mainstream media outlets intentionally keeping them in darkness. Indeed, within MRC’s analysis scope lay several issues which should alarm every discerning voter such as defunding the police; treatment towards illegal immigration; initiating funds to bail out violent protesters during the George Floyd riots; allowing death row inmates voting rights, and being named as the most liberal senator in 2019.

In addition, price controls may appear enticing to uninformed leftists, but individuals who are diligent workers or those with even a rudimentary understanding of economics should be extremely concerned.

With the Biden World Border Crisis leaving America’s landscape devastated, one can’t help but wonder if it would exacerbate under a Kamala Harris presidency. Would it continue impacting blue-collar job markets?

Thus, voters need to reflect: does their resentment for a single person overshadow the paramount importance of safeguarding their country from the extremities of radical ideologies? Unfortunately, there are ominous signs indicating that this might indeed be our current reality. Committed constitutional conservatives and conscientious viewers of real news will strive to rectify these biases while upholding their trusted Christian worldview.
