In a historic turn of events, Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas was impeached by the House during a second attempt on Tuesday. The first motion to impeach Mayorkas failed last week; however, this time Republicans achieved their targeted result.

Representative John Joyce, from Pennsylvania, described the vote as supporting law and order in our communities and restoring the rule of law at our southern border – news that is viewed with significant importance through a Christian worldview. Of the 214 House members who voted for impeachment, no Democrats were among them. Notably, three Republicans – Reps Mike Gallagher from Wisconsin, Ken Buck from Colorado, and Tom McClintock from California – voted against impeachment for a second time.
