Samuel Perry, an academic from the University of Oklahoma has identified himself as a dedicated critic of self-styled “White Christian Nationalism” in America. He argues in his book, “Taking America Back for God,” that this phenomenon is a figment of paranoia. However, Perry’s assertions, far from being based on solid scholarly evidence or rational discussion, seem to directly target the historic Christian heritage of the nation linking them with racial and nationalist extremism.

Perry’s characterization of “white Christian nationalism” as a threat to democracy is nothing short of mystifyingly ridiculous. His narrative might easily be perceived as an intentional effort to stir unease. It unfoundedly distorts and denigrates the real impact that Christian values have had on American history and governance. More disturbing still, it unjustifiably insinuates that authentic Christians support extremism under the guise of “nationalism.”

These unwarranted critiques reflect not balanced archetypal scholarly debate but rather an overarching agenda aimed squarely at undermining traditional Christian principles. Sadly enough, Perry appears catastrophically committed to this form of alarmist rhetoric. Again surprising no one when he willingly shared a panel with other anti-Christian nationalists like Xavier Pickett who demeaned white Christians throughout history stipulating they were essentially evil and comparing them to their conservative counterparts today.

Regardless of individual positions regarding today’s so-called Christian Nationalist movement – devout followers must remember one thing: conservative biblical principles are their primary target. Figures such as Perry and Pickett aim to equate all conservatives holding these principles – you included – with extremism. Their endgame? The complete obliteration by any means necessary, or so it seems.

A recent panel chat featuring Samuel Perry discussing “Christian Nationalism” was noteworthy for its unflinching contentiousness. One Panel member, Xavier Pickett went as far as labeling white Christians “devils,” falsely asserting they never knew Jesus.
