In a riveting display of fundamental Christian beliefs, an examination of contemporary actions through the viewpoint of religious judgement presents a somber canvas. Seemingly innocuous activities such as public displays of homosexuality, and more specifically, government-sponsored participation in LGBTQ+ parades like the FBI’s involvement in West Hollywood Pride parade may be seen differently through this lens.

The red flag here is the normalization and promotion of sexual immorality. This can be understood from Romans 1, which explains that God surrenders societies to depravity, sexual immorality and injustice when His judgment looms over them. Gunfire follows idolatry – forcefully evidenced throughout the Bible from Genesis to Revelation.

Another notable aspect prompting discussion is apostasy. This Greek term signifies “departure” or “falling away”, especially pertinent for those who have announced their faith in Christ then later renounced it. Such deterrence from spiritual commitments are coming to light more often raising concerns within spiritual communities.

Bias against bible-believing Christians has created an aggressive ambiance with words like Hate/Fear/Ignorance/Bigotry often thrown around as attack weapons by proponents of homosexuality or the LGBQT+ community. The call for ‘sexual freedom’ does not sit well with many followers adhering strictly to a Christian Worldview resulting in escalating tensions.

Bringing us back full circle to abortion debates continuing amongst progressives where strong political stances have been taken either side of the pulpit. Troubling figures see a 9.63% increase in abortions in Scotland to total 18,207 lives lost uncovering a shocking reality for those advocating for life.

Finally, the Episcopal Church, no stranger to controversy brought itself back under the microscope after introducing its new “Pride shield”, an amalgamation of their historic Episcopal shield with Pride hues. The question remains on whether and how these dialogues will create an impact and shift social standing or understanding in line with Christian Worldview principles.
