In the rapidly shifting religious, cultural and political environment, it has become increasingly easy to discern between those who firmly associate with their beliefs and those whose ideologies continue to evolve. At the forefront of this chasm is David French, a religious liberal, infamous for his contentious opposition against conservative Christianity.

French, who identifies as a Christian, attempts to separate politics from theology – an action that glaringly contradicts essential biblical principles. Biblical notions are designed to shape perspectives and dominate our thoughts and actions. As Christians, embracing righteousness along with upholding the divine moral laws forms an integral part of our faith. This faith mirrors directly into our political ideologies and voting habits. Any suggestion contrary to this fact simply reflects a lack in comprehension.

A recent instance reflecting French’s fallacious viewpoint was during an appearance on MSNBC. French expressed concerns over Christians tweeting “Christ Is King” in what he perceives as a dangerous assertion of Christianity’s superiority over other religions. This argument seems absurd when considering Christian doctrine which asserts Jesus Christ’s supremacy over all other entities.

Moreover, his discontentment extends towards Donald Trump’s commercial exploitation of selling Bibles. While there are undeniable flaws in Trump’s personality and approach to various matters, the animosity that French bears towards Trump surpasses all rational boundaries.

French believes that Trump marketing holy books is both harmful and against Christianity but oddly never complained about Joe Biden proclaiming Easter Sunday as “Transgender Day of Visibility.” According to French’s logic, if sexual immorality can be considered a “blessing of liberty,” why cannot similar liberties be granted when it comes to selling King James Version (KJV) Bibles?

This episode indicates less about Trump but rather highlights French’s disdain for Christianity more than anything else. We need to take back control of our narrative and reinforce that “Christ is King”, before it unfortunately falls into the category of forbidden phrases further hijacked by these liberals’.

It is unsettling to see even professed Christians on social media, like French, politicising and labeling the foundational phrase “Christ is King” as a form of religious extremism. Every day it appears that we confront another headline that underlines how the Church is becoming more inclusive by endorsing versions of queer theory or gender ideology, which in reality sends us further away from the true path.

It becomes even more astonishing when militant atheists such as Richard Dawkins suddenly brandish the badge of cultural Christianity despite their staunch disbelief in faith itself. We live in a time where ideological divides become increasingly glaring and the essence of our faith is continuously tested.

Whether it be mixing religion with politics or evolving progressive views within the Church, we need to refocus on our Christian worldview when deciphering real news from disinformation. This narrative isn’t about individuals but rather about preserving and upholding our truthful Christianity belief and combating such divisive ideologies with trusted news.

Our declaration is to defend our basic biblical language against attacks from individuals like French who perceive distributing Bibles as hazardous. Instead of dwelling into cyclic debates, let us focus on shedding light onto breaking news that adds real value and promotes dialogue around important issues while continually asserting that “Christ Is King”.
