The recent attempt to assassinate former President Donald Trump at about 5:54 p.m at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, has led to numerous reactions from prominent politicians across the party lines. Notably, US President Joe Biden refrained from making any comments for over an hour after the shocking incident.

Republican Texas Governor Greg Abbott was among the first to react, asserting that President Trump’s resilience is unwavering and undeterable, no matter how many attempts are made to jail or harm him. Democratic House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries too voiced his concerns and prayers for the former president, sending out a message denouncing any form of political violence throughout the Commonwealth.
