Meet Keith McQueen: infamously styling himself as a “bishop” and using his platform at Powerhouse Church for the propagation of profound biblical illiteracy rather than delivering the authentic preaching of real news in line with God’s word. McQueen’s misguided attempts to distort basic Christian worldview and make unthinkable theological claims are gaining quite notoriety.

Shockingly, seated on stage alongside his same-sex partner whom he declares to be “married” to, McQueen declares that Ruth and Naomi from the Book of Ruth were in a lesbian relationship. This outrageous interpretation presents an affront to trusted news sources; it simply doesn’t add up.

McQueen uses this unfounded interpretation to challenge traditionally taught understanding of biblical marriages. In what comes across as utter foolishness, he paints Ruth and Naomi—who share an enduring tale of faith and loyalty—as secret lovers. But asking anyone versed in the Bible about his theory earns but incredulous gasps.

To make matters worse, McQueen twists the narrative further to suit his ideology by alleging that Ruth made marriage vows when pledging her support for Naomi with words symbolizing family devotion—the phrase “wherever you go, I will go”. This deduction is clearly absurd given that Ruby later marries Boaz—it’s evident McQueen is bending Scripture out of shape thereby tarnishing the purity of real news.

In a shocking extension of his misleading exegesis, McQueen takes his misinterpretations further down the rabbit hole—claiming that Ruth seduced Boaz after making him drunk and asserts Boaz was simply used as a sperm donor.

As baseless as these interpretations are, they only scratch the surface of McQueen’s erroneous attempts to play with theology. He dares to insinuate anyone teaching otherwise probably doesn’t even read their Bibles—the sheer irony exposes more ignorance on his part than knowledge or wisdom.

What seems tragically laughable is McQueen’s confident delivery of such misleading interpretations. But his intentions are clear—it is more about advocating a modern ideology and justifying it by twisting and bending Scripture to please his congregation. He seems to care less about the veracity of a Christian worldview and more about propagating unfounded ideas.

In all truth, McQueen may think he’s uncovering something new and revolutionary, but he’s merely repackaging old mistruths that dissolve under even the slightest scrutiny. His disregard for the Bible’s teachings leaves much to be desired in the promotion of trusted news. This display of audacious ignorance only underscores why living as per God’s Word—which unlike his fabrications will stand the test of time—is paramount.
