Under the spotlight is a recent campaign launched by a Catholic advocacy group targeting Vice President Kamala Harris and her stance on transgender surgical procedures for children. The six-figure ad campaign argues that these procedures, which includes so-called “gender-affirming care,” can lead to physically healthy children undergoing irreversible surgeries.

This concern is being brought into the public eye by CatholicVote, an advocacy group that has readily invested $250,000 into digital and television ads broadcast specifically in the battleground states of Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Nevada, and Michigan. Aiming to raise awareness about what they perceive as a problematic viewpoint from Harris – one that supports trans procedures like breast removals for girls identifying as boys and genital surgeries for gender-confused kids – the campaign aims to spark informed public discussion about this controversial issue.

“Many are oblivious to how vast, entrenched and financially supported the agenda of gender transitioning our children has become,” said CatholicVote President Brian Burch. “The alarming fact is healthy boys and girls are seeing their genitals and sexual organs altered irreversibly. Not only does Kamala Harris along with her Democratic Senate allies find this acceptable; they’re enforcing taxpayers to foot the bill.”

Quite notably, Harris has not yet flip-flopped on forcing Americans to pay for what some consider medical experiments on children. Alarming numbers released in each state’s ad reveal that scores of females have already undergone elective breast removal surgery: including 86 in Wisconsin, 97 in Pennsylvania, 18 in Nevada, and 35 in Michigan.

Apart from these figures, additional data obtained by CatholicVote from national insurance databases highlight evidence indicating even more drastic measures such as nipple reconstruction, testicle castration, penis amputations among others. “Hence electing Harris could be approving tax-funded sex change operations,” warns the narration during each ad.

In contrast however, the Biden-Harris administration asserts that Republican-led states banning transgender procedures on children goes against the rights of transgender children accessing health care. However, polls indicate that over 90% of Catholic voters countrywide oppose such surgeries for kids.

Both Harris and Democratic Senators supporting these potentially damaging medical procedures need to answer to voters, insists Burch. With the election underway and key states like Michigan, Pennsylvania, Nevada, and Wisconsin possibly tilting the scales between Harris and ex-President Donald Trump opponents to transgender procedures influencing public opinion matters hugely.
