The renowned liberal comedian, Bill Maher, during his show this week stated that President Joe Biden’s decision not to dismiss the U.S. Secret Service head is casting a negative light on the Democratic Party. This comment came in the wake of an assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump, which raised security concerns and criticisms about the efficiency of the Secret Service.

Maher conveyed his thoughts during his critical talk-show “Real Time” on Friday where he hosted Pete Buttigieg, Biden’s Transportation Secretary. Posing a significant question to Buttigieg, Maher asked, “Shouldn’t Joe Biden have terminated the Secret Service head?” expressing his confusion over its non-implementation.

In response to this intricate query, Buttigieg opted for a diplomatic reply as he clarified operating within a different department and underscored that there has been immense scrutiny and detailed after-action reporting regarding the incident. He further emphasized that these events were closely being studied under close observance.

Reacting to this answer, Maher pointed out how evident this mistake was without needing rigorous analysis or ‘a microscope’, as Buttigieg suggested. After all, according to Maher, “the assailant was on a proximal roof”.

Addressing it as appropriately looking bad on their part, Maher added: “I’ve observed people losing their duty for lesser mistakes. It appears as though ‘Well, another individual from an opposition party got shot? We’ll investigate it if time permits.'”

However, despite cries for her resignation due to her agency’s failure in thwarting such potential danger KIm Cheatle, Director of Secret Service remains steadfast in her position; her resolve unwaveringly articulated when she affirmed: “I plan to stay”.

This unfortunate event resulted in one casualty among the crowd with two more sustaining significant injuries. The 20-year-born assassin effectively exploited weak points in security coverage at the venue which enabled him to ascend onto a nearby roof undetected. From a mere hundred yards or so, the deadly shooter managed an uninterrupted line of sight, opening fire on the former president himself.
