President Joe Biden’s recent stride towards broadening the scope of “sexual and reproductive health” has raised a specter of concern, especially amongst Christian ethical pundits. Critics argue that his actions threaten Christian principles in the world to a devastating degree that can be second only to the Devil. The critique comes on the heels of Biden’s commitment to globally governed organizations facilitating abortion and pro-LGBTQ+ agenda implementation in developing nations.

Despite no international treaty expounding on “sexual and reproductive health,” the Biden government continues to deploy these mechanisms as cited drivers for promoting abortion, LGBTQ+ rights, and publicly financed contraception. This move comes as part of commemorating the 30th anniversary of a contentious United Nations conference discussing population concerns.

Celebration of the 1994 International Conference on Population and Development held in Cairo was marked by unveiling two new taxpayer-funded programs targeted towards extending sexual revolution domestically and internationally. This widespread incursion was largely focused on ensuring equity & sustainability for services catering to traditionally marginalized groups such as adolescents, LGBTQI+ individuals, migrants, persons with disabilities, indigenous people, among others.

One critic from Human Life International decried this move stating it is designed to subtly incorporate abortion into international accords under President Biden’s campaign “commitment to Implementing the International Conference on Population and Development (ICPD) Consensus.” However, these critics point out that even though some nations explicitly stated that abortion wasn’t covered by this term in Cairo’s ICPD document produced, today it appears that definition has expanded or morphed somehow.

Despite blatant disregard for global consensus excluding elective abortions from all notions associated with sexual and reproductive wellbeing by certain Democratic officials acting jointly with global bureaucrats and lobbyists advocating for abortions; there persists profound alarm over implications for Christian uprightness evoked by said policies being enacted.

The instigation is further fuelled due both domestically and abroad from insinuations relating political statements highlighting need to advance ‘sexual’ in context of sexual and reproductive healthcare. Normative sexual health policies help counter conservative opposition, as stipulated by World Health Organization’s Director-General Dr. Tedros Ghebreyesus.

This relentless promotion of values contradictional to the Bible’s teachings has been labeled as imperative for the facilitation of gender equity, equality, and endorsement of women, girls and LGBTQI+’s human rights, especially those encountering discrimination. Such notions have garnered significant disapproval from certain proponents labeling it as cultural colonialism.

Furthermore, there are increasing doubts regarding their acceptance in territories like the Ouagadougou Partnership region where individuals bear strong religious influences which fundamentally argue for traditional morality. Countries such as Benin (52% Christian), Togo (42% Christian) and Côte d’Ivoire (39% Christian) hold strong faith roots making public reception for these policies unclear at best.

Even within countries having large Muslim populations like Burkina Faso, Guinea, Mali Mauritania Niger and Senegal these concepts raise ethical concerns given Islam’s nuanced stance on abortion and contraception.

Lastly critics condemns the Biden administration’s contradiction when announcing efforts to prohibit female genital mutilation while simultaneously suing states that disallow underage girls from engaging in transgender surgical operations. With the US remaining the leading bilateral donor for global family planning projects with a recent spend reaching $607.5 million on similar initiatives including controversial ones such as United Nation’s Population Fund, one can expect ensuing debates over this contentious issue.
