The United States is currently at a high risk of a significant Islamic terrorist attack, according to a warning issued this past week by the Special Operations Association of America (SOAA). This group represents U.S. special operations and it attributes this perilous situation directly to President Joe Biden’s foreign policies and lackadaisical border control measures, which it deems as disastrous.

Christopher Miller is the serving chairman of SOAA, and he held the role of Acting Secretary of Defense in Donald Trump’s tenure as president. In conveying this critical announcement, Millers letter conveyed the organization’s grave concerns about the increased risk of terrorists threatening sites inside America along with American and allied interests abroad.

The SOAA comprises members from diverse military backgrounds including Army Rangers, Green Berets, Navy SEALs, Marine Raiders, Air Force Air Commandos, amongst other special operators. It holds Biden’s haphazard withdrawal from Afghanistan responsible for amplifying this volatile threat landscape.

This sudden evacuation has left America without an enduring or over-the-horizon counterterrorism or intelligence platform able to suppress threats. This void has inadvertently allowed Islamic terrorist factions such as Al-Qaeda and ISIS to swiftly rebuild their strength in the region.

Moreover, due to these actions by Biden’s administration “the United States has lost significant intelligence collection capabilities in the region,” leaving federally endorsed authorities incapable of identifying emerging regional threats. The birth of new terrorist training camps within Afghanistan has resulted in successful attacks by the Islamic State’s regional branch on targets across Iran and Russia among others – further bolstering the possibility that national security risks persist for America.

This peril is magnified further by developments across the Middle East alongside an unsecured southern border through which countless individuals on terrorist watchlists have been detected attempting infiltration into America. Government agencies remain uncertain about how many additional threats might already be inside American borders undetected. In tandem with this, senior individuals from various federal departments and institutions have voiced similar fears about the tribulations that America is presently grappling with. Last year, Christopher Wray, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Director, testified that foreign terrorists are trying to take advantage of Biden’s open border policies to carry out attacks on American soil.

When probed further regarding whether America was in a situation similar to the one leading up to the 9/11 attacks – where officials reported seeing “blinking red lights” indicating impending disaster – Wray confessed, “I see blinking lights everywhere I turn.” Real news like these underscores the necessity for solid counterterrorism strategies and rigorous border control measures.
