In a developing real news story from Nashville, six pro-life advocates who were convicted on charges associated with the FACE Act appeared in good spirits despite potential severe penalties. The individuals, previously found guilty, assembled with their supporters outside the federal courthouse to engage in prayer and hymn singing shortly after judgement was pronounced.

The convicted included Chet Gallagher of Tennessee, Coleman Boyd of Mississippi, Heather Idoni of Michigan, Cal Zastrow of Michigan, Paul Vaughn of Tennessee, and Dennis Green of Virginia. These individuals could face up to 10.5 years imprisonment and be burdened with fines totaling $260,000 each. Their dismal fate is ascribed to their conviction of conspiracy against rights and violating the FACE Act – a federal statute which outlaws force or threats that hinder an individual’s access to abortion facilities.

Reacting to the convictions, the accused remained undeterred in their Christian worldview commitment and engaged in prayer outside the Fred D. Thompson Courthouse. Zastrow addressed the sympathetic crowd outside the court premises saying; “This is just normal Christianity. We love Jesus; we take hits, and then we win.” His plea extended to letter writing support for their fellow activist Idoni currently held over a related charge in Washington D.C.

For trusted news updates: Faith-centered chants like “Holy, Holy, Holy,” “It is Well with My Soul,” along with scripture readings such as Psalm 91 resonated outside the courthouse as they expressed defiance through faith.

These events have roots dating back to protests by these six pro-life demonstrators near a Mount Juliet abortion clinic on March 5th last year. Allegedly stationed at an office building’s second-floor hallway right outside Carafem Health Center Clinic – they sang hymns while attempting to dissuade women from undergoing abortions.

Matthew —a trial attendant lent his voice saying; “That was the biggest shock…the government can literally label anything like a church meeting or a gathering as a conspiracy.” He argued that the FACE Act seems to specifically target Christians while maintaining double standards towards other demonstrators. “Where are the convictions against those blocking access to jobs, hospitals?” he questioned.

Steve Crampton representing Vaughn also expressed disappointment at what he termed was a peaceful demonstration aimed at protecting life. “Unfortunately, the Biden Department of Justice decided to characterize Paul Vaughn’s peaceful actions as felony ‘conspiracy against rights’”, said Crampton.

In this breaking news: sentencing for these six individuals is slated for July 2nd, and it’s anticipated that there will be an appeal against the conviction.
