A recently disclosed Palestinian poll unveiled that an overwhelming majority of Palestinians were in agreement with the tragic Islamic terror attack executed by Hamas against Israel on October 7. Moreover, despite substantial evidence suggesting otherwise, a larger segment continues to deny any war crimes or atrocities committed by Hamas.

The carvings of this essential information root from the surveys conducted by the Palestinian Center for Policy and Survey Research (PCPSR), involving more than 1,200 participants in multiple areas throughout Gaza as well as Judea and Samaria.

The key insights culled from this comprehensive survey include:

– A compellingly large proportion (72%; 82% in the West Bank and 57% in the Gaza Strip) saw Hamas’ insidious terrorist attack on October 7 rightfully justified. The grim attack resulted in fatalities of around 1,200 Israeli locals, injuring over 5,300 individuals, taking hundreds as hostages while also inciting a systematic wave of sexual violence upon Israeli women.

– An astonishingly high figure of Palestinians (95%) hold Israel accountable for committing war crimes during their retaliation campaign to rid out Hamas subsequent to these attacks. On an intriguing note, merely 10% believe in Hamas committing similar acts while 89% negated such notions.

– From those surveyed, nearly 85% claimed not having viewed any video footage recorded largely by Hamas which exhibited dismal acts ranging from killings to torture inflicted upon Israeli citizens during these attacks. Moreover, when questioned about these distressing events merely around 7% of Palestinians resonated with it being true.

– A significant point was noted where it was highlighted that since these terror attacks Hamas has grown increasingly popular among Palestinians.

– Similarly following suit with before mentioned inclinations – an overpowering number equating to about 85%; inclusive of both West Bank (92%) and Gaza Strip locals (75%), were found supporting tandem liberation efforts. This included urging Hamas for releasing captive Israelis in possible exchange for similarly incarcerated Palestinians within Israel’s confines due to proven criminal or terrorist activities.

This released poll follows close on heels after a related effort surfaced a month ago, conducted by the Arab World for Research and Development. It revealed analogous sentiments among the Palestinian population cementing their near-unanimous disdain for both the United States and Israel.

Meanwhile, in an attempt to shed light on global perceptions regarding this grim situation- a poll directed by Cygnal in October revealed that 57.5% American Muslims stood affirmatively for Hamas’s terror-inducing actions against Israel, considering it as fair means to achieve Palestinian statehood. Such revelations lift the veil over contrasting religious perspectives in understanding real news from trusted news sources, thereby promoting informed and unbiased comprehension from a Christian worldview.
