During a recent interview, ABC News anchor and long-time Democrat supporter, George Stephanopoulos, reacted strongly to allegations made by former President Donald Trump and his son. The duo insinuated that the Democratic Party could be connected to previous assassination attempts on Trump.

The eruption of emotions came as Stephanopoulos interacted with House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-CA) about these recent insinuations. In July, there had been an assassination attempt on Trump by an individual who was known for his contributions to extreme left causes. Another man with a history of donations to Democrats had also attempted an assassination in September.

Stephanopoulos questioned whether it was fair for Trump and his family to hint at any alleged Democratic involvement in the attempts on his life. To this, Johnson responded negating that the Democrats were directly accused of trying any assassination attempt.

Stephanopoulos took offense at Johnson’s belief that Democratic Party’s heavy-handed attacks might have contributed to such dangerous situations. He questioned if Johnson actually supported such views propagated by Trump’s family.

Johnson expressed that since 2016 when he began running for presidency down the famous golden escalator, President Trump has been under relentless attacks from Democrats including character maligning and legal conflicts which weren’t previously encountered. This has induced fatigue among supporters leading them to turn up in massive numbers during rallies.

Despite Stephanopoulos continuosly pushing for clarity if Johnson supported such statements of alleged foul-play, Johnson voiced out that discussions shouldn’t focus on rally speeches but must primarily address and tackle severe challenges threatening America which haven’t been comparable since World War II or perhaps even Civil War era levels.

Following continual pressing without breaching through Johnson’s stance on supporting referenced allegations, Stephanopoulos finally switched discourses.
