In an instance of real news that could deeply resonate with anyone who affirms a Christian worldview, Mackenna Greene suffered deep regret after consuming an abortion pill to terminate her pregnancy. Battle emotions caused her to realize she had made a grave mistake soon after.

Colorado State recently enacted legislation in April 2023 banning physicians and nurses from administering this kind of abortion pill reversal procedure. By this law’s dictates, Mynyk risks being fined up to $20K each time she assists reversing the effects of an abortion pill.

That particular month saw The Becket Fund for Religious Liberty file legal proceedings against Colorado State on behalf of Bella Health and Wellness. This action guaranteed preliminary injunction—thus blocking enforcement of said law against their faith-based OB-GYN practice.

Earlier this year, however, there was an anonymous person filing complaints against Mynyk because she administered abortion pill reversals. Responding promptly was paediatrician Alliance Defending Freedom, a Christian legal firm which lodged a motion to intervene on Mynyk’s behalf. The intervention request was subsequently granted in April.

Medical professionals like Chelsea should be allowed to save lives,” Kevin Theriot, a senior counsel at Alliance Defending Freedom, mentioned in defense of Mynyk during her challenge against the Colorado law hindering her from saving newborns such as Greene’s. “This law singles out women just like Mackenna who regret their decisions and want to reverse the chemical abortion process.”

Theriot sees this law challenging freedom of speech, religious liberty and preempting healthcare providers including Mynyk from freely discussing options related to abortion pills.

The prime argument is lives being saved via this method,” Theriot emphasized how crucial it was to understand the life-saving nature of this treatment option. “Mackenna and her daughter perfectly illustrate that fact.”
