The Trinity Bible Church in Dallas, renowned for its former Pastor Steven Lawson’s sermons, is presently dealing with the aftermath of Lawson’s alleged illicit relationship with a younger lady. Elder Mark Becker addressed the congregation this Sunday, coming on the heels of 73-year-old Lawson’s expulsion from ministry due to an “inappropriate relationship” with an undisclosed woman.

He cautioned members not to rely solely on a single man’s sermons but encouraged them to focus their devotion on Jesus Christ as the head of their church.

Steven Lawson boasts academic qualifications including master of theology from Dallas Theological Seminary and doctorate of ministry from Reformed Theological Seminary. On September 20th, he was strikingly removed from his leadership role on the church’s online portal. Alongside his wife Anne, they share a marital bond surpassing forty years blessed with four adult offspring.

Lawson’s striking departure adds another incident to what has been a shocking year of pastor scandals within the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex area encompassing incidences such as Tony Evans’ resignation over unspecified sins; Robert Morris stepping down as lead pastor due to allegations relating to sexual misconduct; and Lead Pastor Josiah Anthony’s resignation following inappropriate behavior.
