In a recent interview, Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) vehemently condemned those criticizing Israel for its militant action against the terrorist organization Hamas; these critics argue that such defensive measures should be halted due to potential collateral damage.

Graham also expressed concern about the idea of Hamas remaining functional after this conflict ends – describing such an outcome as an “ultimate strategic failure.”

Reflecting on historical conflicts like World War II where there were significant civilian losses during critical battles with Nazi Germany and Imperial Japan, he challenged his critics: “Well, tell us how to do it differently.” He drew parallels between then and now – despite differences – stating firmly that Israel is currently engaged in total war with Hamas.

Senator Graham was clear in his belief that no Republicans would call for Israel’s military tactics to be changed without providing any feasible alternatives themselves. He stressed the importance of destroying Hamas—not just for Israel’s wellbeing but also for Palestinians’ future—given that their presence makes it impossible for Israel to wage battle without risking innocent lives.
