In the heart of Kent, Washington, a young 13-year-old boy named Matthiew Stavkovy was known for his growing talents as a preacher, singer, and musician within his local church community. Unfortunately, on July 16th, 2024, Matthiew tragically lost his life to a fatal gunshot wound during a robbery incident – delivering devastating breaking news that rocked his community deeply.

Matthiew’s memorial service took place at the Way to Salvation Church where he was celebrated and remembered by family and friends. Recollections of his vibrant life were shared amongst both young and old who gathered in an outpouring of grief and commemoration.

Among these mourners sharing memories of Matthiew’s abruptly ended life was Michael Stavkovy – Micheal stood solemnly within the packed church recalling the heartbreaking moment in explicit detail: “On July 16th…someone decided to put a bullet through [Matthiew’s] back.”

According to Kent Reporter, prosecutors claim the unthinkable happened when Matthiew accompanied his elder sister (15 years old) and another juvenile friend to Turnkey Park to sell their camera gear via OfferUP- an online mobile-first marketplace. These transactions turned fatal when Faysal Abdullahi (18 years old), along with two unidentified brothers aged 16 and 19 ambushed them.

The three youths were arrested subsequently. Abdullahi faces charges of first-degree murder and first-degree robbery for allegedly spearheading the OfferUp deal which consequently led to this tragic event. Even though he did not pull the trigger himself that ended Matthiew’s life early.

With incredible sorrow pervading their world immediately after their son’s passing, the Stavkovy family could only find minimal comfort from authorities’ swift actions.

As per charging documents obtained by trusted news sources – Matthiew, alongside his sister rushed towards their four-wheel ATV in fearful anticipation of escaping after witnessing one of the gang members brandishing a firearm. Unfortunately, Matthiew was fatally hit by the gunshot just as they were mobilising their escape.

In his prepared remarks shared about his brother, Michael Stavkovy spoke of Matthiew as someone with a servant’s heart who dedicated himself fully to every pursuit. “Everything he did, from serving God to his schoolwork and sports-related activities…he did it to the best of his ability,” Michael noted.

According to Michael, Matthiew was a zealous young follower of Jesus Christ whose life radiated the gospel’s light. He embodied the Christian worldview sincerely and passionately preached sermons within their church community. Apart from preaching the good news, Matthew loved singing and playing numerous musical instruments such as piano, guitar, and trumpet in his church band. Among these accomplishments, he also displayed an incredible grasp of Biblical literature that went beyond his age – actively memorizing entire Bible chapters for recitation at church.

Matthiew’s last seen YouTube video capture shows him delivering a sermon on the Prodigal Son parable narrative – which remarkably accrued four million views on social media platform since it circulated across all corners of the web worldwide!

Before meeting this untimely death, Matthiew had been zealously memorizing Revelation chapter 21 which envisions new Heaven and Earth realities. His elder brother takes solace in knowing that Mattheiw now resides in heaven experiencing these glories first-hand instead of merely reading about them.

Michael fondly remembered how intelligent Matthiew was- so much so that he was readying himself to skip eighth grade directly advancing into ninth grade year! His fascination with nature and flora/fauna seemed endless… but more than anything else he loved God and devotedly served within his local church community often praying for those around him.

A very emotional Michael finally conceded stating how devastated losing Matthiew had affected him deeply– “I slept with him on one bed… I would always wake up and he was right there,” He said chokingly.

Through delivering real news of Matthiew’s passing with a heavy heart, Michael went on to emphasise how his younger brother’s legacy casts a beacon of inspiration on everyone inspiring others to serve God and live life for His glory. Despite being older himself, Michael acknowledged learning much from the strong commitment Matthiew displayed towards helping their community actively.

Matthiew will be remembered as a selfless youngster, who filled his few years with acts that glorified God through his every action and greatly impacted those around him.
