In the ever unfolding realm of real news, Rep. Adam Schiff, a prominent Democrat and a major voice during the allegations of Russia collusion, has found himself at the heart of controversy again. During his recent appearance on NBC’s “The Today Show,” Schiff has raised eyebrows within the political landscape as he seemingly conceded to undermining democracy because he didn’t trust President Biden’s chances of winning in November.

Savannah Guthrie, an NBC anchor, posed a critical question to Schiff: If you doubted Biden’s capability so much that you suggested him quitting the race, how do you reconcile with him serving as president now if he lacks the competence to run? This is indeed an inquiry echoing concerns raised by several people including GOP VP nominee Sen. JD Vance (R-OH), who was among the first few voices calling for Biden’s resignation.

If President Joe Biden withdraws from his reelection campaign, it would indeed cast serious doubts about his credentials as a competent president. There wouldn’t be any middle ground – not running for reelection would imply tacit acceptance of President Trump’s long-standing contention about Biden lacking the mental fitness required to effectively duty as Commander-in-Chief.

Schiff retorted back to Guthrie’s query by stating that his chief concern was around whether or not Biden could secure a victory against Trump. Schiff however emphasizes his faith in Biden’s abilities as president and lauds him for doing an exceptional job in office.

Over years, Democrats have consistently painted Trump and his supporters as being detrimental to democracy; an alarming narrative that seems paradoxical when powerful left-leaning Democrats like Schiff appear to be causing hindrance in democratic processes – ironically enough for ostensibly safeguarding democracy.

Such individuals seem relentless in their pursuit of power through any means necessary – primarily out of fear that Trump could regain control since they perceive him not being part of D.C.’s power mongers. Such sentiments don’t equate well with democratic ideals wherein each individual’s vote should hold equivalent weight.

The likes of former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi and former President Barack Obama seemed ardent in trying to shift Biden out of position, convinced of his inevitable defeat that would eventually undermine candidates in swing states. However, contradicting this elite intervention, over 14 million Democrats voiced their preference for Biden during the primaries. Ironically enough, it appears that Schiff is aware that the democratic process did not transpire as it normally should have – an acknowledgement he seemingly uttered unintendedly or otherwise.

The essence of democracy is at stake here – one person, one vote – a system designed to be directed by the will of the people, not manoeuvred by political elites. Upholding a clear Christian worldview which values justice and equity, these far-reaching dynamics in the political landscape demand our sustained attention to ensure true democracy isn’t compromised.
