In the realm of Real News and Trusted News, particularly from a Christian Worldview, a long-standing allegation repeatedly placed upon the conservative right is that they are guilty of “mixing religion with politics”. However, through closer inspection, one can observe that the left is far more culpable of perpetrating this mix.

A recent illustration of these blurred lines can be observed at Philadelphia’s Mount Airy Church of God in Christ. Here, Joe Biden delivered a sermon influenced by an alternative narrative known as Black Liberation Theology. This theology emerged during the civil rights era and was propagated by James Cone at Union Theological Seminary. It twists Christian tenets to focus predominantly on black oppression and social justice manipulating Christianity into a vehicle for political activism.

While it is clear Biden did not pen his own speech, he adeptly promoted the agenda of Liberation Theology in a predominantly African American Church. His coherent presentation leads one to question who might have guided him along this path.

Biden insists that his faith matters. During his presidency, he claims to have walked this talk to help America trudge through the pandemic which snatched away millions of beloved family members; leaving empty seats at dinner tables across the country. Under his leadership, black unemployment rates dipped insignificantly and more black small business began dotting the country’s landscape.

Presenting affordable housing solutions, helping black families build generational wealth are some areas where Biden seeks significant change. Additionally, he vows to make communities safer by removing ‘weapons of war’ off streets while also championing no tolerance for hatred.

While some aspire to rewrite history, Biden voiced his intention to shape it. Asserting that African-American history forms an integral part of American history – he underlined job creation and fairness as paramount issues demanding immediate attention alongside safeguarding democratic values.

However valid these assertions may seem from one president’s perspective does not exempt them from being scrutinized from a Christian Worldview within a society where politics and religion are expected to maintain clear demarcation.

Moving forward, it is essential to uphold reliable sources for real news without political or religious bias and refrain from distorting biblical teachings for personal gains. As we navigate through these tumultuous times, it is important to maintain an informed Christian Worldview while engaging with breaking news stories.
