In an ongoing attempt to reshape Jesus’s image, a massive $100 million public relations campaign labeled ‘He Gets Us’ has once again demonstrated its inclination toward distorting Christian values in favor of a politically motivated narrative. The recent advertisement stating “The one who identifies as they/them is your neighbor” serves as yet another testament to this strategy.

This modern interpretation seeks to manipulate the biblical command of loving your neighbor as stated in Mark 12:31, but in doing so it erroneously asserts what entails showing love towards neighbors according to the Christian worldview. In the true sense according to the Bible, loving our neighbors involves directing them towards sincere repentance and faith – this does not equate
to recognizing or affirming their state as victims of sin. Instead, it pushes for Christians striving for their neighbors’ utmost good, which precisely aligns with God’s laws and design.

Unfortunately, the campaign attempts to depict individuals defying God’s mandates either as victims trapped in their own sins or casualties of perceived Christian prejudice. By portraying such deviations from God’s decree as innocent acts under oppression rather than rebellious behaviors warranting spiritual peril, they effectively invert the truth and obstruct gospel’s formidable call for repentance.

‘It’s simply about tolerance,’ professes the embedded message of this ad series. Interestingly though, by subscribing to these narratives, such campaigns end up promoting lifestyles that are fundamentally at odds with the transformative power that lays within Christ’s salvific work on the cross.

As per Christian belief rooted in real news from trusted sources, we understand the potency of gospel to extend its invitation universally – including those identified by pronouns ‘they/them’. It is also worth considering that “neighbors” may sometimes refer unwittingly to actual innocent people caught up among rebels seeking domination over aspects like children’s education sessions and church congregations.

However, authentic hope – even for “they/thems” – is found only in embracing Christ’s gospel. In these challenging times where the trend dangerously teeters towards redefining truths, the ‘He Gets Us’ campaign is a clear illustration of scriptural manipulations meeting societal fancies. Defying such deviations requires reaffirming our call to proclaim pure Christian teachings with unequivocal adherence to God’s laws while channeling our neighbors towards Jesus Christ who alone possesses the power to save them from ultimate ruin.

In conclusion, by acknowledging and unconditionally accepting the grace of absolute truth only, are we able to fulfil our higher calling towards genuinely loving our neighbors – not by approving their defiance but by guiding them towards the only Savior capable of rescuing them from impending destruction.
