In recent real news, President Joe Biden came under fire on social media platforms last Thursday for blaming conservatives for the ongoing border debacle. According to Biden, conservatives failed to enact “the most stringent border control in history.”

On Thursday evening, Biden criticized former President Donald Trump and Republicans for refusing legislation that could have addressed the border crisis, painting them as indifferent towards immigration reform. This discussion arrives just months prior to the 2024 election, with polls suggesting that illegal immigration will be a key factor determining voters’ decisions.

“Donald Trump and his MAGA Republican allies exhibit no concern about securing our borders or rectifying America’s floundering immigration system,” stated Biden. “If indeed they cared, we would have seen support for the strongest border enforcement ever seen in our history. Instead, our national security was neglected due to partisan politics.”

Biden’s tweet provoked swift responses from Republicans and political commentators who were quick to point out his termination of Trump’s stringent border policies when he took office. Notably, funds allocated for wall construction along the southern boundary were redirected elsewhere.

Fox News reporter Bill Melugin quickly pointed out that if keen on addressing the illegal immigration crisis urgently, Biden had the executive power to restore the Trump-era emergency declaration that he initially dismissed right after taking office.

Elaborating further on this topic, Melugin voiced that three years after this policy change from Biden came clear acknowledgements from both himself and his DHS Secretary about an ongoing ‘crisis’ at the borders again. Furthermore, critics do not shy away from scolding Biden publicly with Representative Andy Biggs (R-AZ) labelling him a ‘liar’.

Representing another viewpoint is Rep. Anthony D’Esposito (R-NY), who credited President Trump with having created HR2 – which he calls “the toughest border enforcement in history.” D’Esposito believes attempts by Biden to rewrite this narrative only further evidence his lack of concern regarding the border situation.

Three years have passed since Biden reversed Trump’s policies, and now he insists Congress must act on the border crisis. He shrugs off suggestions that he possesses the constitutional power needed to address illegal immigration effectively.

Republicans in the House dismissed a bill presented by Senate in February that aimed at addressing the immigration problem. They have vehemently objected to legislative attempts that seem even to incentivize illegal immigration more. Consequently, Senator Steve Daines (R-MT) also came out against this stance, declaring his refusal to back legislation that doesn’t emphasize secure borders.

The same bill faced opposition from former president Donald Trump, who dubbed it “the stupid bill.” The real news reports assert that Biden has taken issue with Trump’s rejection of the bill on account of solely political motivations as we head towards election season.

Alluding to Biden’s perceived inadequacies in handling the situation, Trump underlined an urgent need to seal off southern border access without further delay. His critique suggests no bill can replace decisive action as illegal aliens continue flooding into our cities nationwide potentially sparking social unrest.
