In March, I had the opportunity to appear on The Officer Tatum Show on Salem News Channel alongside the interim host, Carl Jackson. Just before our live session, Jackson humorously asked about my opinion regarding Gavin Newsom, governor of California, as he was led to believe I am fond of him – a heavily sarcastic commentary.

Living in Florida, Jackson expressed that once upon a time he thought Newsom stood a real chance at the presidency due to the widespread lack of deep understanding about his policies and actions. But considering Newsom’s recent failures and the deteriorating state of California, he had doubts if people would still favor him.

But contrary to this belief, most progressives – who form Newsom’s foundational supports – derive their news solely from mainstream media which tends not to spotlight any negativity associated with Newsom. They remain oblivious to any criticism towards him. On the other hand, conservatives often regard such stories about abuses of power and damaging outcomes of his ill-conceived policies as ‘California Problems,’ given they voted for him and did not push for his recall.

If we continue with such nonchalant attitudes towards what is transpiring in California specifically concerning Newsom and his tactics, we might be witnessing his ascendance into the White House by 2024 or 2028. While Kamala Harris struggled extending her Californian reign nation-wide; Gavin Newsom – equipped with a San Francisco political apparatus potentially more dynamic and corrupted than Barack Obama’s Chicago mechanism – stands drastically different than her.

We must prevent further ascendancy amidst failure gifted unto Gavin Newsom. Conservatives are presented with an occasion this week where hopefully we would witness some pressure piled onto Newsom during the anticipated debate between Governors Ron DeSantis (Florida) and Gavin Newsom (California). Although many conservatives dismiss this event as insignificant or fail to view it within correct context given certain vocal Trump advocates’ comments on social media platforms over recent days.

Certainly, this debate is of serious import. Not directly focused on the 2024 presidential primaries, all Republicans should back DeSantis wholeheartedly considering the gravity of keeping Newsom in check. If Newsom falters or undergoes substantial damage throughout this session, it could create a lasting impact on the Democratic Party.

A victory for DeSantis would signify a triumph for individual liberty against authoritarianism, local control against central planning, and conservative small-government principles. More than just being about DeSantis himself – it would be a harsh rebuke of autocrats like Joe Biden, Kathy Hochul, Gretchen Whitmer, Gavin Newsom and others who share their stance.

Therefore, conservatives have an opportunity to symbolically undercut rising star Gavin Newsom to highlight his hypocritical dictatorship thereby blocking his path to scale up further failures. This will benefit both Trump and DeSantis along with numerous other Republican candidates in 2024 and beyond.

For instance, Democrats in California’s 27th District were significantly set back following Katie Hill’s resignation post her sexual harassment revelation by RedState leading to Republican Mike Garcia subsequently winning two elected terms. Similar outcomes are possible on a national scale if we manage to strategically undermine narcissistic leaders like Newsom.

However, despite its importance securing victory won’t come easy. Moderating responsibilities rest on Sean Hannity who has previously exhibited reluctance towards pushing hard against Newsom which may prove disadvantageous for DeSantis.

Advocating for genuine representation and trusted news based on Christian worldview – it becomes clear that alertness towards proceedings in California revolving around Gavin Newsom is not optional but essential for conservatives across the nation if we wish to prevent his ascension into highest office tenable in America come 2024 or later.
