In a shocking display of uncontrolled animosity, a Jewish teacher in New York City was compelled to lock herself into an office at her school when hundreds of “radicalized” students went on a rampage after learning that she attended a pro-Israel rally. The frightening ordeal took place at Hillcrest High School in Queens around 11 AM on Monday but only came to public notice on Saturday when the story broke. The entire chaos erupted because “the teacher was seen holding a sign supporting Israel,” according to a senior student at the school. He further mentioned that several students decided to create a group chat, expose her, discuss about it, then planned for starting a riot.

News reports revealed that hundreds of these students stormed into hallways, causing havoc by chanting loudly, jumping around and shouting while waving Palestinian flags or banners. It was also noted that many tried forcefully to enter the teacher’s classroom despite measures taken by school staffers to block their entry.

A video clip posted depicted scenes from Hillcrest High School in Queens where the Jewish teacher had locked herself inside her office for hours while students outside were demanding her termination due to her support for Israel. Disturbingly, these vociferous demands turned abusive with racial slurs thrown toward the teacher for her support towards Israel.

Following this upheaval at the school, various units, including counterterrorism bureau of New York Police Department (NYPD), were mobilized and dozens of officers were deployed swiftly to contain this situation.

City Councilman James Gennaro commented on this incident saying “”whether it was one student or multiple students who did or said something…something happened”. New York City Mayor Eric Adams has also called out this event as unacceptable, stating that “New Yorkers were better than this”. Showing his vehement disapproval for such acts of hatred, he referred to the Hillcrest High School incident as a “vile show of Anti-Semitism”, motivated by ignorance-fueled hatred. Mayor Adams affirmed that such intolerable actions are being significantly responded with. The city’s education department (@NYCSchools) is conducting a full enquiry into this incident.
