Renowned Grammy Award-winning artist Lauren Daigle has been recognized as Billboard’s top Christian artist of the year, following a successful period filled with new music releases and continued chart dominance. This achievement underscores the influence of her music on real news in the Christian worldview.

Daigle expressed appreciative sentiments for her supporters, her new creative partnerships and the motivation she garners from the receptivity to her music. Notable amongst her accomplishments in this period is the production of a self-titled album, which marks her first since 2018’s ‘Look Up Child’. The album, which was released in alliance with producer Mike Elizondo and Atlantic Records in continuation with Centricity, her long-term label, is made up of ten novel songs. A deluxe version of the album is anticipated.

‘Look Up Child’ had set an impressive record duration of 102 weeks at number one on the Top Christian Albums chart. This success was largely buoyed by ‘You Say’, a hit song that led the Hot Christian Songs for 132 weeks. Over the past year, ‘You Say’ has maintained its relevance as a dominant track on Christian Streaming Songs while maintaining strong visibility on the Top Christian Albums chart.

Daigle’s newest album debut took pole position on the Top Christian Albums chart due to excellent sales figures. This accomplishment marked her fourth lead appearance on this list. Its impressive reception saw a subsequent rise upon release of its deluxe edition in September. Remarkably, it also left considerable impact across all genres as witnessed on Billboard 200.

The lead single off her latest album titled ‘Thank God I Do’, gained substantial traction and success becoming yet another number one title for Daigle both on Christian Airplay and Hot Christian Songs chart rankings. This song also led the tally for year-end Christian Digital Song Sales.

In an earlier interview conducted during this calendar year with People magazine, Daigle disclosed some mental health challenges that inspired her recently released album, ‘My Whole World Fell Apart’. She explained how music creation became instrumental in addressing these inherent challenges.

Daigle’s journey to stardom began in 2015 with her song ‘How Can It Be.’ Since then, she has gained considerable acclaim with multiple top-singles across the Billboard Christian Airplay chart. Her 2018 album, ‘Look Up Child’ appealed to a wide-ranging audience and is still considered the highest-charting Christian album by a female artist in over two decades.

Her wave of fame did not come without its fair share of mental health issues. During her People magazine interview, she recounted episodes of panic attacks and feeling detached from herself. Creation of music provided therapy during this period and led to the birth of single – “Thank God I Do”.

Besides her musical career, Daigle is also dedicated to philanthropy through her organization, The Price Fund. In 2022 thus far, she has donated more than $600,000 to various charities that focus on different needs including children and the elderly. Since its establishment in 2019, The Price Fund has extended over $2.2 million worth of assistance to 37 nonprofits globally.
